Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that was used since the late 1800s in over 3,000 building material products known as Asbestos Containing Building Materials (ACBM). Asbestos is and excellent insulator due to its resistance to heat and chemical penetration. It is also an ideal binder in materials like cement panels, floorings, etc. Although this mineral was very versatile in many applications, it has severe health risks when fibers are inhaled or ingested. This can contribute to lung cancer, cause asbestosis, as well as mesothelioma. When asbestos is identified and removed with the correct engineering controls, personal protective equipment, and the expert knowledge that we have here at EAE, Inc. , there is no chance that your health would be subject to the hazards associated with disturbing these materials. Don't risk your health by hiring any other removal contractor.
Lead-Based Paint was used in homes up until 1978, and is currently used in many house hold items such as vinyl mini blinds made outside the US. Lead dust is the major problem associated with lead based paint, and is most dangerous to children. Renovation projects in older homes that are not conducted with lead safe practices can be a major source of lead based paint problems.
Mold can be a hidden danger that you never know you are living with. Mold can live anywhere in your home that has moisture, as well as a food source such as drywall, wood, etc. Mold can live in your crawlspace and walls and never go noticed, yet it can cause long term health problems.
